Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
1993-1997

Lois and Clark (the TV show) started in 1993 on ABC.  It is based on the DC Comics comic strip, Superman.  In the comic strip, it is basically based on the super hero, which would of course be Superman, except the show is a little more interesting :o)  It shows more of the lives of Lois Lane and Clark Kent than we would get from the comic strip.  It starts out when Superman doesn't exist, and Clark Kent comes to Metropolis to seek his fortune.  He sees bad things happening all over the city, and wants to help, but can't tell anyone that he has superpowers.  So he (and his parents, Martha and Johnathan Kent who are also emphasized more in this show) create Superman.  Clark Kent ends up working at the Daily Planet, where he meets and falls in love with Lois Lane.  They have a loong and complicated relationship (including many other very very annoying characters- the worst of which was Mayson Drake! :) but anyway...)   I won't tell you any more, except that sadly, the show ended in 1997, with an *extreme* cliffhanger ending.  Even now, people are signing a petition for a new TV-movie based on Lois and Clark.  In June of 2000, they reached their goal of 2000 votes.  To go to that website, go to the links page.  Luckily for us folcs (fans of Lois and Clark) TNT is still showing the show at 8:00 AM every weekday morning and 9:00 AM every Sunday.  YAH!! I only started watching the show a few years ago, so I don't really know what it's like to go a whole week without seeing the show :o) but I enjoy it immensely none the less.  Thank you for visiting my page, and please please please sign my guestbook when you get a chance!!

An Hauquier wrote an awesome description, but it kind of gives away the outcomes of the show! So if you want to watch it and enjoy the surprises, please don't read it! :o)

Something about the show: Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman is a television series based on the DC Comics characters created in 1938 by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Schuster. They were revamped in 1986 by writer-artist John Byrne. The series was developed for television by Deborah Joy LeVine and premiered Sept. 12, 1993 on ABC from December 3rd Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. It's about a Kryptonian baby who has landed on earth and has been found by two very caring people who can't have children of their own, Martha and Jonathan Kent. They name him Clark Kent and raise him like a son of their own. When he's around puberty, he develops some strange powers: heatvision, X-ray vision, telescopic vision, super speed, super smelling, super breath, super strength and even flying. He travels around the world searching for a real home. When he lands in Metropolis, he starts working for the Daily Planet and meets Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Perry White and Cat Grant. He immediately falls in love with Lois. He wants to help other people with his powers, so his mother makes him a red and blue suit with a yellow "S". Lois, who sees him first, names him Superman and the secret identity is born. Clark tells nobody about him being Superman, only his parents know the big secret. Clark and Lois become partners and best friends. Clark is deeply in love with Lois, but she is in love with the god in the cape, Superman. When super villain Lex Luthor asks her to marry him, she agrees because of Superman rejected her. At the altar Lois says no, because of Clark (who had said her he loves her). Lex's criminal secret is revealed and he jumps to death. Clark says to Lois he doesn't love her with his fingers crossed, before she can say anything else. That all happened in season one. In season two, Clark pretends he is dead, what makes Lois very miserable. But he comes back and everything's back okay. Then Clark asks Lois on a date. Just then Lex shows up, he wasn't dead. They put Lex behind bars and Lois and Clark have their almost first date on a boat. Clark is a little distracted by Mayson Drake, but then goes on a real first date with Lois. Lois slams the door in Clarks face because she's afraid, but the next day it's all okay and they share their first real kiss. Seconds after that kiss, Mayson dies because of a car bomb. Then there is Dan Scardino, a DEA agent who likes Lois. So now it's time for Lois to get distracted. After a lot of waiting from us, FoLCs, Lois gives up on Superman and Dan and chooses for Clark. Lois finds out he's Superman and Clark proposes to her. That was season two. Then comes season three with Lois's now very famous words: "Who's asking... Clark or Superman?". She says that she needs time to think and after a breakup, a make-up and an Ultrawoman she asks him the question herself and he answer with yes. So they are engaged. Clark marries a clone of Lois, while the real Lois is kidnapped by Lex Luthor (don't you just hate that guy?!). Unfortunately Lois thinks she's Wanda Detroit and that Lex is the love of her live. When Clark gets her back she's got amnesia. After a painful (especially on Clark's side) treatment by Dr. Maxwell Deter, Lois's memory is back and they're happily together again. Clark goes to New-Krypton with Zara and Ching to defeat Lord Nor and Lois is left on earth. A very sad ending of season three. But he comes back in season four and after a battle between him and Nor, Nor is defeated and everything's back to normal again. And finally, they get married. Jimmy ages, Lois is a murder suspect, Lois is possessed, Lois and Clark have their first fight, Randy Good causes a sex-scandal and Lex Luthor's son and Lesly Luckabee cause a lot of trouble. At the end of the fourth (and last) season Lois and Clark find out they're not able to have children of their own. But in the very last minutes they find a baby and that leaves us all with a lot of unanswered questions. So that's what the show's about.
